• Community events and forums: Hosting candidate forums, town halls, community meetings, and civic engagement events that connect residents with elected officials and candidates and foster public discussion.

• Phone banking and digital outreach: Costs for phone-banking platforms, text and email outreach tools, and targeted digital communications to reach voters.

• Administrative and operational expenses: Essential day-to-day costs such as office supplies, rental fees for meeting spaces, printing, postage, insurance, equipment, and basic staff support needed to run the club responsibly and in compliance with legal requirements.

• Compliance and reporting: Preparing and filing required campaign finance reports and maintaining accurate records to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal election laws.

We do not use club donations to directly purchase political ads or to fund unrelated private ventures. Donations are spent in accordance with our bylaws, applicable campaign finance laws, and our mission to advance Democratic values in the Eastlake-Bonita area and San Diego County.

How to Get Started

• Attend a meeting: come to our monthly membership meeting to meet officers, hear current priorities, and learn about immediate needs.

• Fill out a volunteer form: provide basic contact info, availability, and areas of interest so we can match.

How it works

• Indicate your intent: When donating online, by mail, or in person, please specify that the gift is “in honor of” or “in memory of” and provide the name of the person you wish to recognize.

• Acknowledgment: We will send a notification to the honoree or to a family member/recipient you designate. The notification will state the donor’s name and the honored person’s name, but will not include the donation amount unless you request otherwise.

• Suggested wording: If you’d like us to use specific wording in the notification (for example, “In loving memory of…”), include that message with your donation.

Donation methods

• Online: Select the appropriate option and enter the honoree’s name and contact information in the notes field.

• Mail: Include a short note with the honoree’s name and preferred notification address.

• In person: Tell a staff or volunteer member the donation is in honor/memory and provide the recipient details.
